Sailesh Ramakrishnan is the Managing Partner at Rocketship.vc, a global venture capital firm currently investing across twenty distinct sectors and fourteen different countries. Before transitioning to the venture capital industry, he served as the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of LocBox, an enterprise software startup that was subsequently acquired by Square. His earlier technical career includes roles as Director of Engineering at WalmartLabs, following his tenure at Kosmix, and as a Computer Scientist at the NASA Ames Research Center. Ramakrishnan holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from IIT Madras, master's degrees from Virginia Tech and the University of Pittsburgh, and pursued a doctorate in artificial intelligence at the University of Michigan. Today, his primary professional focus centers on utilizing artificial intelligence and data-driven methodologies to identify and fund early-stage global technology and climate startups.
