Saemin Ahn

Saemin Ahn is the Managing Partner at Rakuten Capital in Singapore, where he oversees the firm's international investment strategy. Prior to his current role, he spent two years as a Partner at 500 Global focusing on Southeast Asian deals, following a nearly ten-year tenure as the Founding Managing Partner of Rakuten Ventures. During his venture capital career, Ahn has directed capital into emerging technology sectors and served as a board member for notable portfolio companies, including the secondhand marketplace Carousell and the push notification platform OneSignal, until January 2023. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and journalism from Sogang University, and he recently guided Rakuten Capital's participation in funding rounds for startups like Leal and Honest. Ahn currently focuses on deploying capital across global markets, targeting opportunities in machine learning, robotics, aerospace, and new energy.
