Sabrina Yang

Sabrina Yang is the Vice President of Global Initiatives at Flagship Pioneering, leading strategic efforts to expand the firm's international presence across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. She joined the venture creation firm in 2017 to develop therapeutic platforms and previously served as the Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Empress Therapeutics. Prior to her corporate roles, Yang was a postdoctoral researcher and National Science Foundation translational fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She earned her doctorate and master's degrees in materials science from MIT, developing nanoparticle technology for cancer immunotherapy that resulted in pending patents and publications in Nature Communications. She also holds a bachelor's degree from National Tsing Hua University. Her current focus centers on scaling global biotech innovation and translating academic research into commercial synthetic biology and drug discovery platforms.
