Ruby Lu is the founder and an investor at Atypical Ventures, an early-stage technology venture investment firm she established in 2019. Before launching her own fund, she spent 12 years at the venture capital firm DCM, where she co-founded DCM China in 2006 and backed several technology startups that eventually became publicly traded companies. Earlier in her career, Lu worked as a Vice President in the technology, media, and telecommunications investment banking group at Goldman Sachs. Alongside her primary investment activities, she currently serves as a Non-Executive Director on the corporate boards of Yum China Holdings and Uxin Limited. She holds a Master of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University, which she earned in 1996. Her career centers on identifying and scaling early-stage technology enterprises across the United States and the Chinese markets.
