Roth Martin is the co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Rothy's, a sustainable footwear company based in San Francisco, California. Before launching the direct-to-consumer brand alongside co-founder Stephen Hawthornthwaite, Martin began his career as a commodities trader at Glencore, worked briefly at a biotech startup, and later co-founded Hedge Gallery, a prominent design gallery on the West Coast. Following three and a half years of industry research, he introduced the company's first product made entirely from recycled materials in December 2015. Drawing inspiration from environmentally conscious brands like Patagonia and Toms, Martin helped develop a proprietary knitting production process that has diverted more than 150 million plastic bottles from landfills as of 2022. His current professional focus centers on advancing sustainable fashion, reducing manufacturing waste, and scaling circular economy practices within the global retail sector.
