Ross Gruber

Ross Gruber is a technology entrepreneur and the former Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Glow Energy, based in Marina del Rey, California. He guided the renewable energy startup through the Y Combinator Winter 2022 batch, securing $500,000 in funding to develop virtual power plants and decarbonization solutions for multifamily properties. Under his technical leadership, the six-employee company scaled its software infrastructure leading up to its strategic acquisition by Ivy Energy in 2024. Prior to this venture, Gruber served as an Engineering Manager at Upkeep and a Lead Data Engineer at Dia&Co, building and managing technical teams for venture-backed enterprises. He also evaluated emerging climate technologies as a judge for the December 2023 Utility Data Hackathon. Gruber maintains a professional focus on leveraging software engineering to advance sustainability, grid decarbonization, and renewable energy distribution.
