Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is a Partner at True Ventures, focusing on investments in generative artificial intelligence, infrastructure, and enterprise applications. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Founder and Chief Technology Officer of ONI Systems, which completed an initial public offering before being acquired by Ciena. Following the acquisition, Sharma transitioned to Ciena as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the Metro Networks Group. He holds a bachelor's degree from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, along with a master's degree and a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Alberta, where he endowed a digital communications professorship in 2004. In 2013, he received an honorary Doctorate of Science awarded by the President of India. His current work centers on guiding early-stage startup founders through organizational design, culture development, and scaling technical infrastructure.
