Rodrigo Nuno

Rodrigo Nuno is a founder and the former Director of Engineering at Unima, a healthtech and diagnostics startup based in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. Founded in 2015 alongside co-founders Jose Luis Nuno and Alejandro Nuño Ayala, the company participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2016 cohort and raised $2.0 million in a single funding round. During his early tenure at the 26-employee startup, Nuno managed manufacturing for veterinary products, quality control, purchasing, and information technology. He subsequently served as Manufacturing Manager from 2018 to 2022 before advancing to Director of Engineering. In this leadership capacity, he oversaw infrastructure, software architecture, and technical hiring as the firm pivoted toward developing rapid disease surveillance diagnostics without laboratory equipment.
