Robin Praeger

Robin Praeger is an Advisor at Versant Ventures based in San Francisco, California. He previously served as the healthcare and biotechnology venture capital firm's Chief Financial Officer from 2000 to 2022 and was promoted to Managing Director in 2005. During his tenure, he provided financial leadership for a portfolio that generated more than 50 initial public offerings and over 50 mergers and acquisitions, while serving as a director for funds including Versant Venture Capital VI. Before joining Versant, Praeger spent 14 years in public accounting as a tax partner at Arthur Andersen, specializing in partnership taxation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Taxation from Golden Gate University. His current focus involves advising senior leadership on internal operations and financial strategy within the venture capital sector.
