Robert Moss

Robert Moss is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Valgo, an algorithmic safety validation startup backed by the YC W26 cohort, based in Stanford, California. He earned his PhD and MS in Computer Science from Stanford University between 2019 and 2025, where his doctoral research focused on algorithms for safe planning under uncertainty. Prior to founding Valgo in 2025, Moss served as an AI Safety Consultant at Xwing from 2022 to 2023 and conducted critical aerospace research at the NASA Ames Research Center. He previously worked as a research staff member at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, contributing to the ACAS X collision avoidance development project that earned a 2022 R&D 100 Award. His technical background centers on developing robust algorithms to validate safety-critical autonomous systems across complex aerospace environments and sustainable energy applications like carbon capture.
