Robert Leshner

Robert Leshner is the Chairman of Compound Labs and an active venture capitalist based in San Francisco, California. He previously served as the CEO of Compound, a decentralized finance platform he founded that currently manages billions of dollars in total value locked and executed a token airdrop in 2020 valued at hundreds of millions. Before launching the Compound protocol, Leshner held product management positions at prominent technology firms including AngelList and Coinbase, and he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. After stepping down as Compound's chief executive officer in September 2022, he expanded his investment activities through Robot Ventures, a firm that raised new capital in 2023 to back early stage Web3 startups. His current focus remains on bridging traditional financial systems with blockchain innovation by developing decentralized protocols and funding cryptocurrency infrastructure.
