Robert Davoli is the Founder and Managing Director of Gutbrain Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. Before transitioning to venture capital, he co-founded SQL Solutions, bootstrapping the enterprise software company before selling it to Sybase in 1990 to generate over $100 million in shareholder value. He subsequently served as the Chief Executive Officer of Epoch Systems, leading the business to an acquisition by EMC in 1993 that delivered a 14x return on investment. Through Gutbrain Ventures, Davoli has executed more than 40 investments in technology startups, building a portfolio that includes companies such as Otter.ai. A five-time honoree on the Forbes Midas List, he holds a bachelor's degree from Ricker College and studied computer science at Northeastern University. His current investment strategy focuses exclusively on early-stage enterprise software, SaaS, and infrastructure startups.
