ROBERT CORMICAN

Robert Cormican is the CTO and Co-Founder of Forge Robotics, an industrial automation startup headquartered in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2025 alongside CEO Eoin Cobbe, the early-stage company develops autonomous systems designed to convert traditional human-programmed welding robots into an independent manufacturing workforce. Forge Robotics was recently selected to participate in the Y Combinator Fall 2025 accelerator batch, operating under the guidance of Primary Partner Nicolas Dessaigne. Prior to his current entrepreneurial venture, Cormican earned an engineering degree from the University of Galway, where he specialized in mechatronics and image quality. His broader technical background includes extensive expertise spanning advanced computer vision, silicon development, and semiconductor manufacturing operations. Cormican currently focuses on applying robotics intelligence to eliminate human intervention across complex metal fabrication processes, ranging from initial part positioning to final assembly cleanup.
