Robert Blazej is a Partner at Mission BioCapital in San Francisco, California, where he invests in early-stage life science companies and coordinates firmwide diligence on new opportunities. Before joining the venture capital firm in 2017, he co-founded Allopartis Biotechnologies, a startup that was acquired by Novozymes in 2013. Following this acquisition, he directed the Digital Biotechnology research site for Novozymes, building upon over ten years of operational experience across both small and large biotechnology enterprises. In his current investment capacity, he leverages his combined expertise in business, engineering, and intellectual property to hold board seats at portfolio companies including Telo Therapeutics, Photoswitch BioSciences, and Dren Bio. He earned a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Francisco and Berkeley, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
