Robert Baffi

Robert Baffi is a Venture Partner at Samsara BioCapital, providing technical and strategic guidance for emerging biotechnology companies since March 2021. He previously served as President of Global Manufacturing and Technical Operations at BioMarin Pharmaceutical, which named a gene therapy manufacturing facility in his honor, and spent fourteen years in quality control at Genentech. Having contributed to the approval of 28 biotechnology products, he currently serves as a board director for Neurogene, Neuvivo, and the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training. His earlier career includes roles at Cooper BioMedical and the Becton Dickinson Research Center, complemented by a doctorate degree in Biochemistry from the City University of New York and a master of business administration from Regis University. His primary sector focus centers on advising startups on manufacturing, process development, quality control, and technical operations.
