Roar Solberg

Roar Solberg is a Vice President at BASF Venture Capital, the corporate investment arm of BASF SE. In this capacity, he helps manage an evergreen fund of approximately €250 million, targeting initial equity investments between $1 million and $5 million to foster technological collaborations with internal business units. Solberg evaluates early-stage startups across an active portfolio of 49 companies, which includes strategic investments in recognizable entities such as LanzaTech, DePoly, Oceanworks, and ph7 Technologies. His recent transaction experience involves participating in Bellatrix Aerospace's $8 million Series A funding round in May 2022, Sea6 Energy's $10 million Series B round in August 2022, and InsideTracker's $15 million Series B round in September 2022. Solberg currently focuses his professional efforts on identifying and funding breakthrough technologies in sustainability, digitization, and advanced chemistry to drive corporate innovation.
