Rick Griffiths

Rick Griffiths is the Managing Partner at True Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Palo Alto, California. Before joining the organization in 2007, he gained institutional investment experience at Kleiner Perkins and operated as the founder and chief executive officer of several technology startups. Griffiths currently oversees a portfolio of more than 100 companies and manages over $2 billion in total assets, with notable historical exits including the 2019 acquisition of Docker. He recently led the $800 million close of the firm's Fund VI in March 2024 and directed a Series B investment into artificial intelligence developer xAI. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, his current focus remains on leading seed and Series A investments across enterprise software, cybersecurity, and applied machine learning.
