Rick Genzer

Rick Genzer is the Investment Director for the IT Investment Group at Ben Franklin Technology Partners, based in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Before joining the firm full-time in November 2017, he spent nearly two decades on its technology advisory committee and accumulated over 30 years of experience as a founding team member and senior executive across five early-stage technology startups. In his current capacity, Genzer has evaluated over 100 companies and executed direct investments in 16 seed-level high-tech ventures, resulting in two exits and three debt conversions. He operates within an organization that manages 225 active portfolio companies and deploys up to $10 million annually, while also engaging with regional entities like the GO PA Fund and Nerdwise. His professional background centers on identifying, vetting, and commercializing innovative information technology products through strategic seed-stage capital allocation.
