Richy Nelson

Richy Nelson is the Founder and CEO of Roofr, a property technology platform based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. A third-generation roofer, he transitioned from traditional family roofing operations to launch the construction technology startup in 2016. Under his leadership, the company has grown to over 50 employees and serves more than 20,000 active users across North America. Nelson has secured significant venture capital backing for the platform, including a $7.3 million seed round and a $10 million Series A led by Bullpen, alongside investments from Y Combinator and Alignment Capital. He recently oversaw the 2025 launch of the Instant Roofer AI quoting tool to compete with industry peers like Canvas. His current professional focus centers on modernizing the roofing sector by developing software solutions that streamline contractor quoting, project management, and customer acquisition.
