Richard Kenny

Richard Kenny is a Venture Partner at Genoa Ventures and the Founder and Managing Partner of Hawkwood Biotech Partners. He began his career in finance at Numis Securities before transitioning to the biotechnology sector at Solazyme, Inc., which is now part of Corbion NV. At Solazyme, Kenny built the corporate business analytics function and served as Product Line Director, managing the commercial launch of the AlgaPrime DHA omega-3 product. In 2017, he established Hawkwood Biotech Partners to provide advisory services for early-stage companies, eventually forming an exclusive partnership with Genoa Ventures to support their second fund. He holds an MBA from UC Berkeley and completed his thesis in the bioengineering of enzymes at the University of Oxford. Kenny currently focuses on guiding industrial biotechnology and foodtech startups through complex commercial and technical scaling challenges.
