Richard Kayne

Richard Kayne is the Founder and Co-Chairman of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors and a General Partner at Propel Bio Partners, based in Los Angeles, California. He holds a Bachelor of Science in statistics from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA, beginning his financial career as a principal managing hedge funds at Cantor Fitzgerald. Kayne later founded Kayne Anderson Rudnick, an investment firm he grew to over $10 billion in assets under management before selling it in 2001. His primary alternative asset management firm, Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, currently oversees approximately $34 billion in total assets under management. Recently, he co-founded Propel Bio Partners alongside Leen Kawas to raise a $150 million inaugural fund targeting disruptive life sciences technologies. Kayne leverages decades of alternative asset management experience to focus on scaling early-stage and growth-stage therapeutic ventures.
