Richard De Silva

Richard De Silva is the Founder, Managing Partner, and Chair of the Investment Committee at Lateral Investment Management, LLC. At Lateral, he directs middle-market buyouts targeting founder-owned companies generating between $25 million and $200 million in revenue with a minimum of $5 million in EBITDA. Previously, he co-founded the heavy equipment marketplace IronPlanet, which was later acquired by Ritchie Brothers for nearly $800 million. His 27-year career also includes serving as a Managing Director at Highland Capital Partners, a firm that raised $7 billion across its funds, and working as a strategy consultant at Oliver Wyman Consulting. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, and an AB from Harvard College. De Silva currently focuses on providing growth capital to independent, bootstrapped businesses to facilitate their technological transformation.
