Richard Court

Richard Court is a Partner and the Head of VCTs and EIS at Octopus Ventures. Before joining the venture capital firm in 2017, he held principal finance and direct lending roles at TPG, RJD Partners, and Dresdner Kleinwort, building a track record in international SME investments since 2006. From 2019 to 2024, he served as the lead fund manager for the Octopus Apollo VCT, the second-largest venture capital trust in the United Kingdom, where he generated a 41.8% total return over a five-year period. In August 2024, he transitioned into his current leadership position to oversee all retail investment funds and unquoted investments across the firm's portfolio, handing the Apollo fund to Paul Davidson. Court currently focuses on directing capital into early-stage B2B software and high-growth technology companies across the broader European market.
