Rich Riley is the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Origin Materials, a carbon-negative materials company based in West Sacramento, California. Before joining Origin Materials, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Shazam, leading the music identification application to profitability and facilitating its 2018 acquisition by Apple for approximately $400 million. Prior to Shazam, Riley spent over thirteen years as a senior executive at Yahoo, ultimately serving as Executive Vice President managing operations across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions. He initially joined Yahoo in 1999 following the $43 million acquisition of Log-Me-On, a toolbar software company that he co-founded after graduating from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, Riley applies his extensive executive background in consumer technology and sustainable materials to guide corporate strategy, scale global operations, and advise emerging technology startups.
