Rich Lunak

Rich Lunak is a technology entrepreneur, inventor, and the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Innovation Works, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Prior to leading the regional investment firm, he founded Automated Healthcare, successfully scaling the three-person startup through strategic market expansion until its eventual acquisition by McKesson Corporation. During his extensive tenure at Innovation Works, Lunak launched the nationally ranked AlphaLab, AlphaLab Gear, and AlphaLab Health accelerators, while also raising and deploying the $24 million Riverfront Ventures fund. Under his executive leadership, the organization became one of the most active seed-stage tech investors in the United States, overseeing portfolio companies that created or retained approximately 20,000 local jobs. Following his official retirement in 2022, his professional background remains defined by early-stage technology investments, founder mentorship, and the structural development of regional startup ecosystems.
