Ricardo Villarreal Chapa

Ricardo Villarreal Chapa is the Co-founder of Rio, a technology startup that participated in the Y Combinator Summer 2022 accelerator batch. He previously earned a degree in Computer Engineering from Boston University, establishing a rigorous technical foundation for his subsequent career across the software and financial sectors. Before launching his current entrepreneurial venture, Villarreal Chapa worked as an engineering product manager, where he was responsible for developing software solutions for major banking institutions. Additionally, he gained institutional finance experience while serving as an analyst in the private equity industry, evaluating various investment opportunities. Outside of his primary professional endeavors in the technology ecosystem, he actively trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, rock climbing, and competitive tennis. His diverse background effectively combines technical product management and financial analysis with a current focus on scaling early-stage software ventures.
