Ray Wang

Ray Wang is the founder of Flick, an AI-native filmmaking platform that is currently participating in the Y Combinator Fall 2025 batch. Prior to establishing this new startup, he served as a founding engineer on the Instagram artificial intelligence team and operated as the primary backend contributor for the initial version of Instagram Stories. During his tenure at the Meta-owned platform, Wang engineered core infrastructure that successfully scaled the Stories product from zero to 400 million daily active users over a two-year timeframe. Beyond his corporate engineering experience, he has independently designed, developed, and commercialized multiple profitable artificial intelligence applications through his previous entrepreneurial ventures. Operating with a two-person team at Flick, Wang's current professional focus centers on leveraging generative AI to create advanced software tools for modern visual storytelling and digital video production.
