Ray Chua

Ray Chua is a General Partner at Ribbit Capital, a venture capital firm managing over $5 billion in assets, and is currently based in San Francisco, California. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and previously built his early career in investment banking at Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs. At Ribbit Capital, Chua oversees early-stage investments across a global portfolio of more than 100 financial services startups, with notable firm exits including the 2021 initial public offering of Coinbase. In 2024, he led the firm's investment in the African fintech unicorn Wave, and he subsequently joined Ribbit's expanded investment committee in March 2026. Drawing on over a decade of venture capital experience, his current focus centers on identifying early-stage global opportunities within digital banking, insurtech, and embedded finance.
