Randy Berholtz

Randy Berholtz is a Partner at Ventac Partners and a Senior Advisor to Mesa Verde Venture Partners based in San Diego, California. Previously, he served as General Counsel and Secretary for multiple public life sciences companies, including Nanogen, Apricus Biosciences, and Innovus Pharmaceuticals, following his corporate legal practice at Cravath LLP and Cooley LLP. Throughout his career, Berholtz has participated in deploying over $65 million across more than 25 life science companies and currently serves on the boards of Ambulero, Rora Biologics, and Eysz. A former Rhodes Scholar, he holds a JD from Yale Law School and degrees from Cornell University and Oxford University, and has taught business and biotech law at UCSD. His current focus centers on life sciences venture capital, specifically licensing early-stage technologies from universities and research institutions to build viable biotechnology and medical device companies.
