Rajesh Swaminathan is a Partner at Khosla Ventures, where he leads deep-tech investments across renewables, industrial decarbonization, and compute infrastructure. Prior to joining the firm, he headed Applied Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Applied Materials, managing a global portfolio of 85 startups and regional funds in Korea and Taiwan that yielded multiple exits. Earlier in his career, Swaminathan invested with Third Point Ventures and developed next-generation network systems at Lucent’s Bell Labs. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, completed graduate studies at the University of Maryland, and earned an undergraduate engineering degree from IIT Madras, receiving the President of India Medal. With over two decades of venture capital and material science experience, his current focus centers on funding founders who apply artificial intelligence to transform the energy, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors.
