Rahul Mathur

Rahul Mathur is currently an Investor at DeVC, an early-stage venture capital fund based in Bengaluru, India. Prior to joining DeVC, he founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Verak (formerly BimaPe), an insurtech startup providing commercial insurance products to small and medium-sized businesses. Under his leadership, Verak participated in the Y Combinator W21 batch and raised approximately $4 million in seed funding from prominent investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners and Sequoia Capital India. Mathur oversaw the strategic growth of the company until its acquisition by InsuranceDekho, an Indian insurance aggregator, in early 2023. Before his entrepreneurial ventures, he earned a degree from the University of Warwick and gained professional experience in the European insurance sector. His career currently focuses on leveraging financial technology expertise to identify and support emerging early-stage Indian startups.
