Rahil Sondhi

Rahil Sondhi is a San Francisco-based software engineer and entrepreneur currently working at database company Timescale following its acquisition of his startup, PopSQL. He originally founded PopSQL in 2016 to develop a collaborative SQL editor for data teams, eventually scaling the software platform to serve more than 2,000 enterprise customers. Under his leadership as Chief Executive Officer, the 14-person startup achieved a fivefold increase in annual revenue and secured a $3.4 million seed round before raising Series A funding led by Tiger Global in 2022. Prior to his entrepreneurial venture, Sondhi spent four years operating as a Senior Software Engineer at Instacart and completed his education at the University of Toronto. His professional background and current focus center on building collaborative data visualization tools and improving developer workflows within the broader PostgreSQL database ecosystem.
