Rachel Lam

Rachel Lam is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of Imagination Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She previously served as a Partner at Initialized Capital and held operational roles at Y Combinator after earning a computer science degree from Stanford University. During her tenure in venture capital, Lam has backed numerous successful technology startups, including notable early investments in Brex and Notion. Under her leadership, Imagination Capital has built a portfolio of over 20 companies and recently raised $100 million for its second fund in March 2024. She actively participates in industry events like TechCrunch Disrupt and joined the board of directors for portfolio company Ambient.ai in early 2026. Her current investment strategy focuses on seed-stage artificial intelligence, enterprise software, and fintech startups, emphasizing support for underrepresented founders.
