Prashant Shah

Prashant Shah is a Partner at Monta Vista Capital, focusing on early-stage venture investments in enterprise and infrastructure software startups. He brings over two decades of investment experience, having previously served as an early-stage investor at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners since 2001. Before entering venture capital, Shah held product management roles at AT&T, Cypress Semiconductor, and enCommerce, which was acquired by Entrust. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1993. Additionally, he is a Charter Member of TiE Silicon Valley, formerly serving on its Board of Directors and as Chair of TiE Angels. Today, Shah focuses on utilizing his technical expertise across all seven layers of the OSI stack to advise founders on product strategy and fundraising.
