Prakash Janakiraman

Prakash Janakiraman is the Co-founder and a Board Member of Nextdoor, a localized social networking platform based in the San Francisco Bay Area that he helped launch in 2010. Serving as the company's Chief Architect for over a decade, he guided the enterprise through its $4.3 billion public listing in 2021. Prior to establishing Nextdoor, he worked at Google as an Engineering Manager, where he oversaw critical infrastructure projects and product development initiatives for the Google Maps platform. His earlier career includes senior technical leadership positions, such as serving as the Director of Engineering at Shopping.com, where he managed various large-scale software engineering teams. Janakiraman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his professional background centers on designing scalable consumer internet architectures and advising early-stage technology ventures across the broader industry.
