Phillip Trauer

Phillip Trauer is the Managing Director at Vivo Ventures and Wayra Brasil, the corporate venture capital arms of Spanish telecommunications firm Telefónica, based in Brazil. Before assuming this position, he spent nearly seven years at Valor Capital Group, where he advanced from a Principal role to Venture Partner. His earlier professional career includes positions in growth operations at Sonder Inc. and investment banking at Citi, complemented by an MBA from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business. In his current capacity, he oversees seed-stage investments across nine countries for Wayra and manages a Vivo Ventures portfolio that has backed four startups, including Digibee and Klavi. Trauer currently focuses on identifying emerging technology investments across artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and software as a service to facilitate corporate expansion into new Latin American markets.
