Philippe Noël is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of ParadeDB, a database technology startup based in the United States. Originally from Québec, he earned a computer science degree from Harvard University in 2020 before beginning his career in software engineering. Prior to establishing his current venture, Noël contributed to product development at Microsoft and worked on web browser technologies at Whist. At ParadeDB, he leads the development of pg_search, an extension designed to bring advanced full-text search and analytics directly into Postgres environments as an alternative to Elasticsearch. He frequently shares technical insights on database architecture, recently authoring materials on logical replication versus ETL processes and securing a speaking engagement at the POSETTE 2025 conference. His current professional focus centers on expanding native search capabilities within the Postgres ecosystem to streamline enterprise data infrastructure.
