Philipp Sander

Philipp N. Sander is an Investment Analyst at SOSV's IndieBio based in San Francisco, California. In this role, he focuses on sourcing early-stage therapeutics and human health startups while supporting portfolio companies with business development, indication selection, and experimental design. Prior to entering venture capital, he spent 12 years conducting laboratory research, culminating in a PhD in Chemical Biology from the Scripps Research Institute. He also holds an MSc in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of Freiburg and a BSc in Molecular Biomedicine from the University of Bonn. His scientific work involving DNA-encoded libraries has resulted in more than eight peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Nature and PNAS, and he has contributed industry commentary to TechCrunch.
