PHILIP SMART

Philip Smart is the Founder of Parley, a legal technology startup backed by Y Combinator as part of its Summer 2024 batch. At Parley, he develops artificial intelligence software designed to automate flat-fee legal services, initially focusing on streamlining work visa and green card applications for immigration lawyers. Prior to founding his current technology venture, Smart served as a Growth and Generative AI Product Manager at LinkedIn. In this capacity, he directed the platform's 2023 consumer-scale rollout of GPT-4, marking the first major deployment of the technology outside of OpenAI. He also managed product initiatives that drove measurable increases across LinkedIn's "Core Four" growth metrics, which are regularly reported to its parent company, Microsoft. Smart's professional background primarily centers on leveraging advanced artificial intelligence models to build scalable consumer products and modernize specialized professional workflows.
