Philip Reilly

Philip Reilly is a Venture Partner at Third Rock Ventures based in Boston, Massachusetts. He holds dual medical and legal degrees, utilizing his specialized clinical and legal training to build biotechnology enterprises focused on rare genetic diseases. Prior to his venture capital career, he served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Interleukin Genetics from 2000 to 2006 and held faculty positions at Harvard Medical School. Reilly has co-founded and served on the boards of multiple therapeutics startups, including Fulcrum Therapeutics and bluebird bio, where he also operated as interim Chief Medical Officer between 2010 and 2012. Throughout his clinical and corporate tenure, he has authored over 100 academic articles and published seven books detailing clinical genetics. His current focus remains on advancing genetic medicine and funding breakthrough therapies for patients with orphan diseases.
