Phil Toronto

Phil Toronto is the Founder and Managing Partner of AI Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund based in New York City. Under his leadership, the firm manages over $50 million in assets and maintains a portfolio of more than 20 artificial intelligence startups, recently launching a $30 million second fund in March 2025. Toronto actively mentors founders through Y Combinator, frequently speaks at events like TechCrunch Disrupt, and recently directed an investment into the generative AI startup NeuroLink in January 2026. Before establishing his current firm, he served as the Chief Technology Officer for multiple fintech companies and earned a Bachelor of Science in Technology Education from The College of New Jersey. His current focus centers on accelerating deep tech and machine learning enterprises while bridging the gap between technical education and venture capital.
