Phil Sanderson

Phil Sanderson is a Managing Director and co-founder at Griffin Gaming Partners in San Francisco, California. Before establishing the firm in 2019, he spent over two decades in the venture capital industry, serving as a General Partner and Managing Director at previous funds where he successfully spearheaded 38 distinct investments. He began his financial career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs before earning his MBA from Harvard Business School. His extensive venture portfolio features prominent technology and gaming companies, including early backing for the communication platform Discord. Additionally, Sanderson is the founder and co-chairman of VCNetwork, a professional organization comprising more than 1,100 Silicon Valley venture capitalists. He currently focuses on deploying capital from Griffin's $1.5 billion in assets under management into gaming and Web3 startups ranging from the pre-seed to pre-IPO stages.
