Peter Zhe Chen

Peter Zhe Chen is the Founder of Alphaist Partners, an early-stage venture capital fund established in late 2024 to invest in artificial intelligence and robotics startups. Prior to launching his own firm, he served as a Managing Director at 5Y Capital, where he transitioned his expertise from technology infrastructure into early-stage venture investing. Before entering the venture capital industry, Chen spent eight years working as a senior software engineer at Google and BlackBerry, securing approximately ten patents during his tenure. As an engineer and product developer, he built Chrome applications that reached tens of thousands of users and launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for TagTalk in 2014. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, alongside engineering degrees from the University of Waterloo and McGill University. Chen leverages his technical background to support emerging AI companies.
