Peter Fong

Peter Fong is a Partner, President, and Head of Asset Development and Financing at RTW Investments. He oversees the incubation of RTW-founded life sciences companies and serves as a board member for portfolio firms like Ji Xing Pharmaceuticals and Yarrow Biotechnologies. Previously, Fong worked on the innovation team at Flagship Pioneering, where he led the creation of four biotechnology startups, including Harbinger Health, and served as the founding chief executive officer for each. Before Flagship, he managed business development at Genentech, notably facilitating a strategic collaboration with BioNTech focused on mRNA-based personalized cancer vaccines. His earlier career includes roles as a co-founder of Carigent Therapeutics, a researcher at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, and a chemist at General Electric. Fong leverages his doctorate and operational experience to focus on early-stage drug development and venture building within the biotechnology sector.
