Peter DiLaura

Peter DiLaura is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Initial Therapeutics and a Venture Partner at Lifeforce Capital, based in South San Francisco, California. Prior to his April 2024 appointment at Initial Therapeutics, he served as the Chief Business and Strategy Officer at Sonoma Biotherapeutics, where he established the finance, legal, and human resources functions. DiLaura previously worked as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Third Rock Ventures and spent several years as the CEO of Second Genome, a microbiome therapeutics company that secured investments from Pfizer and Roche. He holds a B.A. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and currently sits on the board of directors for Character Biosciences. With nearly three decades of industry experience, his career focuses on corporate development, financing, and strategic operations for emerging biopharmaceutical and biotechnology firms.
