Pepe Bolanos

Pepe Bolanos is a Managing Partner at Cometa, an early-stage technology venture capital firm based in Mexico City. Before joining the firm as a Principal in 2014, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Itaro and worked as a Consultant at Bain & Company from 2010 to 2013. His earlier corporate career includes five years at CEMEX, where he advanced to Country Capital Expenditure Manager between 2004 and 2009. Bolanos holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD and a mechanical engineering degree from Tecnológico de Monterrey. After becoming a Partner in 2017, he and his co-founder acquired the stakes of former partners in 2023 to lead all future investment funds. He currently focuses on funding early-stage technology startups across Spanish-speaking markets, targeting a combined demographic of over 600 million people.
