Pehong Chen is the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of the e-commerce software company BroadVision, as well as the Founder and Chairman of the private asset management firm BroadVision Group. Prior to establishing his current corporate enterprises, he co-founded the multimedia software provider Gain Technology alongside his former doctoral advisor, Michael A. Harrison. Chen founded BroadVision in 1993 to pioneer early e-commerce technology, a successful venture that contributed to his inclusion on Bloomberg Businessweek's list of the world's most successful immigrants. He earned a doctorate in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1988, and he subsequently received a regional Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1999. Today, his professional focus remains divided between guiding enterprise software development at BroadVision and overseeing private technology investments through his own dedicated asset management firm.
