Paul Stoffels is the Vice President at Johnson & Johnson Innovation, where he leads international innovation networks, partnerships, and biotech investments. A trained physician and biotech executive, he previously served as the Chief Scientific Officer and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee at Johnson & Johnson, overseeing the clinical development and launch of 25 approved medicines and the creation of its COVID-19 vaccine. Before his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Galapagos NV from 2022 to 2025, he co-founded Tibotec and Virco, serving as CEO until their acquisition by Johnson & Johnson. Under his leadership, the JLABS incubator network was expanded to support more than 700 early-stage life sciences companies. Educated at the University of Antwerp and the Prince Leopold Institute, his career focuses on pharmaceutical research and development across infectious diseases, cell therapy, and global health initiatives.
