Paul Sagan

Paul Sagan is a Catalyst Advisor at General Catalyst and the Chairman of ProPublica, based in Cambridge, United States. He joined Akamai Technologies as its fifteenth employee in 1998, serving as Chief Executive Officer from 2005 to 2012 and remaining on the board of directors until 2019. Previously, the Northwestern University graduate held senior executive roles at Time Warner between 1991 and 1997, founding the Road Runner and Pathfinder internet services after a broadcast television career at WCBS-TV that earned three Emmy Awards. His corporate governance experience includes serving as Non-Executive Chairman of Datto before its acquisition by Vista Equity Partners, alongside holding board seats at five current General Catalyst portfolio companies. Sagan leverages his extensive executive background to advise founders on strategy and execution across the enterprise internet software, services, and infrastructure sectors.
