Paul Maeder

Paul Maeder is the Founder and General Partner at Highland Capital Partners and Chairman of the Board at 2U, based in Boston, Massachusetts. With over 37 years of venture capital experience, he has directed numerous investments across the enterprise software and online higher education sectors. Maeder previously served as a director and 10% owner of Imprivata Inc., where he held approximately 86,724 shares valued at more than $2 million, and he maintained corporate board seats at Carbon Black Inc. and Exagrid. He also served as Chair of the National Venture Capital Association during the passage of the JOBS Act and earned advanced degrees from Princeton University, Stanford University, and Harvard Business School. His current professional focus remains on guiding growth-stage technology enterprises and advising educational institutions through his ongoing board directorship at Princeton University.
